HR Consultancy
- Activities and Markets
The business would be providing advice and/or training to corporate clients on people and employment
issues. In particular, the business would be advising and/or training on HR best practice, employment
legislation, redundancy and TUPE issues as well as change management and performance/talent and
mentoring services.
The ideal business would be well established and with its own professionally qualified HR consultants.
- Financial Parameters
The likely business will have significant fees, with a good track record of growing revenues from a number
of clients. Profitability is not a key issue.
- Management
It would be important that the business retained its management and staff post-acquisition. It could be
a retirement sale provided the owner was not too important to the business and there was an adequate
transitional arrangement.
- Location
The business would be in Wales and the West Country, the Midlands or south of the country.
- Consideration
Our client has considerable financial resources available for acquisitions. The structure of the
transaction and the form of payment can be flexible to suit the timing and taxation needs of the
parties.

Distribution Business
Our client is a highly successful quoted UK based PLC involved in specialised high value distribution
businesses with high technical requirement and service content. It is now seeking to acquire businesses
in specific sectors in order to add to its market position in these sectors.
- Activities and Markets Served
The ideal business would be an added value distribution company in one of the following sectors:
- Pharmaceutical and biotechnology laboratory equipment
- Environmental monitoring equipment
- Fluid power (for example, seals and components)
- Interconnect products
- Other high value specialised equipment
- Financial Parameters
The business will have sales of around £5m to £20m but may be higher for the right situation. Good
profitability, growth and strong cash flow would be important. Relations with customers and suppliers
would be good without excessive vulnerability to any particular relationship.
- Management
It would be important that the business retained strong senior/middle management post-acquisition.
It is very often the case in acquisitions the Group makes, that the leader of the business stays on
and retains an ownership stake.
- Location
The business could be anywhere in UK or continental Europe or North America.
- Consideration
